Very rude staff. Cold coffee and cold eggs. Don't stay here. There are better hotels close by.
The hotel staff are very kind and courteous, the breakfast is always fresh each morning, and the common areas are kept very clean, room service does a wonderful job, the room and the hotel is a bit dated, it could use some renovations but it’s nice to have a bit more of a classic feel, it’s cozy. I felt very safe here and it’s quiet at night. Thank you Best Western Carowinds! A wonderful stay.

This was nice, decent place for my weekend getaway. Nice room...nice continental breakfast...close proximity to the Carowinds!!! Probably not the best location for scenic or aesthetic views, but was really there to visit the Carowinds mostly.

Breakfast is horrible, I eat once, got sick in my stomach within a hour, tried to give it another chance and the gravy, if that’s what it is, was cold, eggs, cold, when I said something, I was told, “put it in the microwave”, wow! My vehicle was broken into to (rear window broken out), and when I reported it to the desk, I was told, “what do you want me to do about it”. Are you kidding? How about I’m so sorry this happened to you on property, anything but, “what do you want me to do about it”. Or maybe, we can help with video once you get the police involved. Wow! Rooms are dirty, don’t wear white socks in the rooms. Maids are good but you’ll need to speak Spanish if you need something. Pretty cold at desk and language barrier for sure. It’s rough, but it’s not like it’s the Marriott. Hopefully it’s a short stay and you’ll get through it. Park in front, under lights and be sure and lock your doors, even then, you’re not safe. Recommend not leaving ANYTHING in your car. TV goes in and out with a can’t find signal, I said something and got the shoulder shrug, like except it or it is what it is. If you only want a bed and coffee for breakfast while paying premium prices, you’ll be fine here…..

Worst continental breakfast I've ever seen. Small would not even begin to describe the breakfast area. 6 extremely small tables crammed into a tight space between the cereal and the "hot" food. By hot food, I am referring to the cool-to-the-touch sausage patties and powdered eggs. 1 group of 6 people took up 3 tables and both food stations for about 20 minutes, so I sat there and watched as I sipped my delicious blend of water & apple juice. Of course, I didn't have to mix them....the hotel staff apparently did that for me!! The beds were okay, and the shower was hot. So, if you're wanting to stay close to Carowinds, the location is great, but plan on hitting up the Cracker Barrel and add that to the cost of the room. Then compare with a hotel that actually offers a real breakfast, like Drury or Embassy, and see if it's worth it to you.
