This hotel was definitely not up to Best Western standards. I am sure Sam S. the GM will respond to this review…I can’t wait! I plan on speaking to the Regional Management of Best Western as well.
My wife and I were traveling with our small camper from Atlanta and it was late and we just wanted a place to lay our head and take a shower in the morning. We checked in at 9:30 PM and were given Room 213…when we got to the room the door was slightly open…I knocked, and opened the door. The bed was unmade, lights on and there were towels on the sink…obviously someone was staying in this room or it was never cleaned. I went down to the desk and was then given Room 207. The room across the hall was blaring their TV, the front desk attendant who walked us to our room said he would call them and ask them to turn their TV down. We went into Room 207 and it was dirty! There was trash in the bathroom trash can, left from the previous guest, there was dirt and plastic wrappers on the floor and hair in the bathtub, sink and on the sink counter. All we wanted to do was sleep and take a hot shower. We asked for some sort of compensation/discount and the morning front desk attendant said - “No, we don’t do that, we offer you another room” I said - What’s the point, we have already been through two dirty rooms. BUYER BEWARE - DO NOT stay at this Best Western…not worth the $132.

Newly renovated lovely decor = 10/10 !! Luxury at an affordable price price point ! The pool was pristine , the rooms were clean exceptional. Wish the mattresses were a lil better but it was a great stay. Do note there is no elevator so if you can’t do a flight of stairs or have lots of luggage book early to secure a 1st floor accommodation! Tru Soul Food is just down the way it’s the best!!!!

When you first walk into the lobby you are greeted with a slight damp/mildew smell. The AC was on but for some reason it still felt warm and damp. I'm pretty sure the guy working the desk does every position there as he was upstairs when we checked in and he also did the breakfast.
There are only 2 floors and no elevator. There is however a small handicap elevator that would be big enough for one person (I don't know if it was in working order or not as we didn't try it or see anyone use it, but it was there as an option).
The room was decent enough and on the surface looked clean. A couple mildew spots on the wall in the bathroom (we were in 211).My biggest issue is they had the AC off so it was like 85° in our room but it cooled down fast. The room did have a microwave and a small fridge.
The breakfast was a little lack luster as they were missing cups for the waffle mix, one side of the toaster didn't work, they didn't have cups for the syrup and the butter was rock hard (fyi hard butter doesn't spread). If you are staying in Butner you already know there isn't many options and this sadly was the best one we found close by. Next time we would probably just ask to stay with friends when we come back to town.

I wish I could give 0 stars. This hotel is no where near as nice as in the photos. The rooms are run down, the pool is falling apart (there were pieces of the chipped paint floating around when we tried to swim) The manager is rude and unprofessional. We needed this hotel last minute and so I quickly did the reservation through Priceline. I did not change anything except the date, silly on my part, I know. But it apparently defaults to 2 people. My husband and coworkers were still working when I went to the hotel with my two small children. Mind you, walking in, there were 3 people, myself and my 2 CHILDREN. The manager said nothing about only being allowed two people in the room. My husband and his 2 coworkers got in around 130am. We went to breakfast and as one of the coworkers walked by, the manager began screaming at him saying “did you eat breakfast here?! You must get off the property now!” He then approached me, with my 7 month old baby in my arms and began screaming at me that we I only reserved the room for 2 adults, and there is a max of 4 allowed in the room and that he was keeping the extra $100 for the incidental charge. I said “sir, you knew I had more than two people when I arrived and there were the three of us, and you just said that we could have 4 people, so you count my two small children that sleep in bed with me now but not when I first got here before I signed the paper?” To which he said it doesn’t matter the age, we are charged per person and that I called and he told me that. (I never called and said that to him and he said “IT DOESN’T MATTER) My husband tried to talk with him and kept saying “you people” when speaking, my husband asked what he meant by “you people” as we were quiet, well kept, and my husband had only been there for approximately 7 hours at this point, sleeping 6.5 of them. He then said “oh I mean you guys” He proceeded to still charge the extra on my card even though he kicked someone off the property and harassed us the remainder of the time we were there, following us around while we were preparing to leave. I do not recommend this hotel even if it is a last resort, the management will say anything to keep the extra incidental fee. I’ve now seen multiple reviews stating this, I wish I had seen them sooner!

Negative stars are not possible! We booked a room in this hotel due to a family emergency. However, less than an hour after booking (two days before arrival), the plans changed and we needed to cancel. We called the hotel, and the manager said we had booked through a third party (apparently an affiliate of Priceline who manages online reservations for all Best Westerns), and that they could not help us at all. We called the third party, and after a half hour of pretend help, they said they would submit a waiver, but that there was a no refund policy. They demanded medical records to prove an emergency. Later, they claimed the refund was approved, then waited another day to blame the hotel manager (they even named him, though it was not the person I spoke with), saying he denied the refund. During this time they also changed the rules of the cancellation policy quoted (originally the website said never, but they quoted that I was 30 minutes too late when I called). Overall, I would not book through the website again, and am not likely to stay in this chain again, as I discovered there is a history of this problem. If I could give negative stars I would.
Thank you for replying. Yes, your manager informed me that you could not edit the reservation, after which I began communicating with a call center connected with the third party. I would advise you to discuss the third party with your organization, because they have repeatedly blamed you (the local manager) for the lack of refund, while still demanding confidential medical information!
