I am so bummed to have to do this review because I have always loved staying at Best Westerns, but this BW in Bishop made me never want to stay in another one again. My husband and I were on our way moving from Riverside County to Idaho, and we stopped here to break up our drive. We were extremely exhausted from moving out of our house and driving, so at the last minute we decided to book a room with BW Bishop. We googled them, got there information and went onto there website to book a room. It was about 10:00 at night and we still had about 2 more hours to drive. After making the reservation online, we called to make sure someone would be there to check us in, and we were told there would be. We finally got there around midnight, just to find no one there and the front lobby door locked. We couldn’t believe it! We knocked and called the front desk but no one would come. We found an 800 number to call for an emergency on the front door, so we called it. The lady on the phone informed us that someone should be there, and that she would call them up and get back to us. 15 minutes later she called, and said she couldn’t get ahold of anyone. At this point we were wanting to leave, but she told us that she would try one more time and get back to us. So we sat in the parking lot and waited longer. Finally around 1 am a guy comes walking out half awake, and looks at us and just tells us with a attitude to come around to the side window, but never apologizes or nothing. My husband says, hey where have you been, we have been waiting out here for an hour? He actually rolled his eyes, and said “an hour, really”? We told him that we had and that we had been talking to the main office, and that they had been trying to get ahold of him. He then tells us with such an attitude, “sorry I can’t be at two places at one time, I was helping another customer”. At this point my husband and I get pretty frustrated and we both start to give him a piece of our minds, and we tell him that he is being very rude and has not even apologized, and the guy starts to cover his ears and tell us that we are scarying him with our yelling. Yikes! We then get told that we were over charged for our room by a third party booking company, and that he could not correct that, we also got charged a pet fee of 30 per pet for our two cats and one dog, and they apparently don’t have pet fees, but he couldn’t correct that either. Then to top it all off he tells us that the room we were booked for doesn’t accept pets. We almost lost it at that point, but thankfully he made an exception, but tells us that if there is any stains anywhere in the room we would be charged. If it hadn’t been so late, and we weren’t so tired, we would have walked away at that point, but we took the room. But the madness didn’t end there, once we got to the room we found stains all over the furniture that I don’t even want to know where they came from. We let the guy know, and so far we have not gotten a charge. The room was not the best, and definitely not worth the money we paid for it. The customer service was horrendous and unprofessional. You would think for all our inconvenience we would be getting some kind of refund on the over charged price we paid for the room, but no. We have not even gotten a phone call with an apology for the mess we dealt with. We have called corporate to get some kind of refund on the price we paid for the room, but no one calls us back. I guess their customers don’t mean much to them. Sad. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, and I would never stay there again.
