Our group of three just wrapped up a wonderful long weekend stay at this hotel, and we're already planning to book here again for our next trip to the area!
The Good:
This place really delivers on comfort and cleanliness. Our room was surprisingly spacious - plenty of room for all three of us to spread out our luggage without feeling cramped. Housekeeping clearly takes pride in their work; everything was spotless when we arrived and maintained beautifully throughout our stay.
The amenities were a pleasant surprise! Free bicycle use was a huge hit with us - we explored the local area on two wheels and saved money on transportation. They also offer e-bike rentals at very reasonable rates, which we'll definitely try next time for longer excursions.Breakfast exceeded our expectations. Hot, fresh, and delicious each morning. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome - from the front desk to housekeeping to the breakfast crew, everyone was genuinely friendly and helpful.
The Reality Check:
Let's be honest - this isn't a luxury resort. The building shows its age in some areas, and you won't find marble bathrooms or high-end finishes. But here's the thing: we didn't need those extras, and we appreciated not paying for them either.
Bottom Line:
Excellent value for money. Clean, comfortable, friendly service, and thoughtful amenities that actually enhance your stay. We got exactly what we wanted without breaking the bank.
Already looking forward to our return visit!

I recently had a delightful stay at a charming hotel that truly went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. From the start, they honored my request for a Mountain View room, and they were incredibly welcoming to my service dog. The spacious and impeccably clean room featured an unbelievably comfortable bed, a soothing bathtub, and a separate toilet area, which made for a pleasant experience.
One of the highlights was enjoying the inviting fire pits and the relaxing natural spring water spa. Every morning began with a delicious breakfast that left me dreaming of those banana nut waffles! And let’s not forget the free parking—it was a wonderful perk for this lovely 3-4 star mountain retreat.
The location couldn’t have been better—conveniently situated near an adventure park, Hot Springs, and downtown. The front desk staff provided an excellent list of dog-friendly activities, perfect for hiking and river swims. The team was friendly and attentive, though I did encounter a few hiccups during my stay.
now for the downsides because there’s a downside to absolutely everything and that doesn’t mean this is a bad hotel:
There wasn’t a "Do Not Disturb" sign on my door, but I did have my service dog in the room, which I suspect led to housekeeping skipping my room. I also found the bedding lacking—a thin microfiber comforter and no middle blanket made for chilly nights. I had packed my own sheets, but I hadn’t anticipated needing to bring a blanket as well! As usual, my tendency to overpack didn’t quite serve me this time; I brought enough for a month, but only stayed for two days! 😆
The pool closed at 10 PM, which turned out to be a bit of a bummer since everything else in town shuts down, and I just wanted to unwind in the hot tub after dinner. Plus, the grassy areas had sprinklers running all night, long that transformed them into muddy swamps, ruining a pair of my favorite shoes and socks. I hate when people do this. It’s bad for the grass, the planet and me just trying to walk by on the sidewalk without getting soaked. This is a major issue everywhere.
Now, a word about accessibility: there are steep stairs and ramps, but no elevators, which could pose challenges for guests with mobility issues were people who cannot carry heavy bags, upstairs. The wheelchair ramp was particularly steep, I could feel my calves burning just trying to go up and I can’t imagine somebody in a wheelchair attempting that.
definitely something the hotel should reconsider for safety. I experienced a few heart-stopping moments dashing down those stairs at night, narrowly avoiding a faceplant as I managed to catch myself on the bumper of a parked car.
For the love of all that is good, please paint those curbs yellow with reflective paint before someone gets hurt! I’m pretty sure it’s actually legally required and I genuinely appreciate this hotel and want it to thrive.
Despite the minor setbacks, I truly enjoyed my stay and would enthusiastically recommend this place to fellow able-bodied service animal handlers (who have good depth perception!)
Choosing the right hotel is a personal journey, and I share these experiences so the hotel can enhance its service for future guests.
This trip was especially meaningful for me as I transition out of Colorado due to financial reasons. To be honest, I only make about $20,000 a year, so this vacation represented 20 percent of my income. It felt like a big deal to treat myself and pretend to be a bit richer, even if it wasn’t the most responsible choice! But I have absolutely no regrets. Throughout my stay, Staff made me feel valued and genuinely cared for, and because of that, I look forward to booking with Best Western again in the future. I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything!
