I called Barbers for an estimate for tree service and got a prompt response for a meeting at my address first thing the next morning. Justin arrived exactly when he promised and listened to my tree service needs. He explained some of my requests would possibly harm certain trees and advised a better plan. He then gave experienced advice about 2 large silver maples in the front yard most likely causing damage to our homes foundation due to long ground level root systems that were visible. He gave me a fair price for their work and I never looked elsewhere. The friendly respectful crew arrived on time the next morning and expertly removed the 2 maples, ground roots and stumps as well as trimmed 2 other large trees. They cleaned up debris and hauled it away and were gone in 2 hours 20 minutes. Needless to say I plan on using them again on another project.

When Justin came out to give me my free estimate, I have to admit I was a little skeptical. He recommended that I use their daily rate option, which would mean I would pay $6500 and have a full crew 5-7 people working in my yard from 7:30 in the morning until they were finished with anything I wanted them to do. Ultimately that involved removing six trees (two of which were huge and VERY close to the house), taking out some bushes, breaking up a concrete sidewalk that had been buckled by tree root growth, canopy raising the majority of the trees in the yard, and removing all the invasive vines that have been clinging to these trees for years. They would also haul away all the debris, including the concrete. That sounded too good to be true, but I read their reviews here and decided to hire them.
They did an amazing job. They arrived on time, consulted with me again about the work I wanted done, made sure that my dog and I were safe anytime we were outside, and were incredibly responsive to any requests I made. The yard looks beautiful and they felled the trees without any issues at all. The whole job ran like clockwork.
I highly recommend this company to anyone who has tree work to be done. They are responsive by phone, text, and e-mail, and the money I spent was well worth the result I got. Thank you, Barbers Tree Service!
Frequently Asked Questions About Barber's Tree Service LLC
Why is it necessary for a tree company to have insurance?
Tree work is inherently hazardous and should be performed by professionals. Liability insurance safeguards homeowners and their property from potential risks and damages. Workman's compensation insurance protects tree service professionals during their work. When hiring a tree company, it's crucial to request and verify comprehensive insurance coverage from their carrier before any work begins. If you have concerns, contact the insurance provider directly for confirmation.
Why should I prune my trees?
Tree pruning is essential for several reasons, including safety, aesthetic appeal, and tree health. Removing dead or broken branches eliminates potential hazards, as these can fall unexpectedly, even on calm days. Pruning is necessary when branches become too large for the tree or grow too close to structures like roofs or chimneys, preventing potential damage. Additionally, pruning can enhance a tree's appearance and improve views of your property or surroundings.
Do I have to be home for the removal process?
Your presence is not required during the tree removal process. As long as you provide the tree service professionals access to your property, they can complete the work in your absence.
How much will the service cost?
The cost of tree removal services varies based on several factors. Key considerations include the tree's height and diameter, its overall condition, accessibility, desired disposal method for the trunk and branches, and whether stump grinding is required. These elements collectively determine the final price of the service.
Is it ok to remove trees close to the house?
While trees near houses can provide shade, shelter, and aesthetic value, they may also pose risks. Branches can damage siding or roofs, and leaf accumulation can lead to rot. Tree roots can potentially harm foundations, causing cracks and other issues. Although removing a tree close to a house requires careful planning and execution, a reputable tree service company can safely complete this task.
What to do with a tree that was damaged in a storm?
For trees with minimal storm damage, it's important to prune broken branches, repair torn bark, and allow the tree to heal naturally. Mature trees can often survive the loss of one major limb without significant health impacts. Trim the damaged branch back to the trunk to promote proper healing and recovery.
How do you tell if a tree needs to be cut down?
Several indicators suggest a tree may need removal. Examine the tree for dead or decaying branches, which pose fall risks. Look for signs of disease or pest infestation, such as peeling or discolored bark, or visible insects. Consider the tree's location relative to buildings, power lines, or other structures. If the tree presents a safety or property risk due to these factors, removal may be necessary.
What does trimming tree branches mean?
Branch trimming involves the removal of overgrown limbs to improve sunlight exposure throughout the tree. Adequate sunlight is crucial for the tree's overall health, as it enables proper growth and allows various parts of the tree to access essential nutrients and moisture.
When Is The Best Time To Cut Or Trim A Tree?
There isn't a universally ideal time for tree removal or trimming. However, various factors may influence the timing of these services. Consider scheduling an assessment if the tree is dead, poses a hazard, creates excessive shade leading to moss or algae growth on your home, or no longer aligns with your property goals.
What Do You Do With the Stump?
After tree removal, two main options exist for stump management. One method involves grinding the stump below ground level and covering it to maintain the yard's grade. Alternatively, a machine can extract the stump and roots, followed by filling the void to create a solid base that matches the surrounding yard level. Both approaches effectively maintain a clean, manageable space.
