My RAV-4 check engine light has been on since last Saturday, after the FS gas people forgot to lock up the gas cap. I went to P.B. store, which diagnosed a lot that needed to be repaired for $1600. I had to pay $117 for the diagnosis fee to get my car back. Before I prepared for the service of a Toyoda dealer, where I might still need to pay a significant sum of money, my wife found that Google AI remarked that AUTO ZONE could check the “Check Engine” code. Immediately, we went to Edison’s Rt 1 AUTO ZONE. The gentleman there spent a few minutes scanning my RAV-4, and the report that came out showed NOTHING WRONG AT ALL. It’s that “unlocking the gas cap” caused a large emission system leak. The result is I only need to drive 50-100 or more miles, and the “Check Engine” light will automatically disappear.
I wanted to pay for this service, but the gentleman said no charge. Wow, my wife and I guiltily walked out of the AUTO ZONE with all smiles and saving $1600, and any charge that the dealer would swallow me alive again.
What a service! Next Tuesday, I’ll personally bring this report and return to AUTO ZONE to meet this gentleman and buy a SUB cover, even though I don’t really need it.
I recommend all viewers to go to AUTO ZONE for a free checkup when the maintenance light is on, and then buy something from the store as a gesture of appreciation for their free service.
Thank you, AUTO ZONE, for saving us a big chunk of money.
