This is crap insurance!!! They may start off with lower premiums but they end up increasing it at renewal time. My car insurance increased by 40% at renewal time so I ended up switching to another company.
I still have my homeowner’s insurance through Auto-Owners. In the 3 yrs. that I have been a customer, I filed 1 claim for hail damage to my roof. The claims adjuster returned my telephone calls 10% of the time. I was passed around to different adjusters. My claim was ultimately denied. Customer service constantly told me my claim was closed and that there was nothing else to do on the claim which I later learned was incorrect. That prompted me to file an appeal. My 10+ neighbors had their claim approved for hail damage to their roofs in a very timely manner. Several weather reports, specifically to my address, noted 1.25 hail. Yet, Auto-Owners continues to deny my claim. I am the ONLY one in my community that is still fighting with my insurance company. If you want to talk to the CEO or Regional Director, forget it! I sent a letter to the CEO and Regional Director regarding my complaint and received telephone calls from other people in the company. It is 10 months now and I am still dealing with Auto-Owners. I absolutely, positively would NOT recommend Auto-Owners!!

They don’t pay what they owe you even with replacement cost. They cheated me out of $6500.00 and took me 15 months to get a check for $2100 when it should’ve been $8500.00 Auto Owners insurance just plain sucks.

I have nothing but high marks for Auto-Owners not only have personal representation them as an agent but have a claim with them and they were outstanding. Keep up the good work

Client for 10+ years. That ended this year. 100% increase the past 4 years for car insurance, despite a clean record. Pricing yourself out of business

I'm very disappointed in this company. I used them as my home insurance, fist time this year. My neighbors property blew into mine and caused significant damages. I contacted my insurance so that they could fight my neighbors insurance on the liability. I knew they were liable. It started off awful. The adjuster wouldn't respect my time and gave me no warning before harassing me one day at work so that he could view the property. He was from our of town and didn't want to make a second trip. I wasn't given more than a few hours notice. When I text him I couldn't meet he trespassed through our neighborhood gate and went in anyways. The issue wasn't at my main residence but he stomped all around there anyways. I asked for a new adjuster but they claimed he already had what they needed. After reviewing the claim they said I didn't have enough evidence to prove my neighbor was negligent and so they wouldn't pursue his insurance. They offered me less than half the replacement cost for my property after taking out my deductible. This also meant I had a claim on my house not his. I knew this wasn't right so I presented more evidence and they wouldn't take it. I sent the SAME evidence to himy neighbors insurance and they agreed to cover the property damage. After I did all the work I asked them to withdraw my claim. The said they couldn't do that and I would have a claim on my house regardless. Their reasoning was all their "effort" i.e. the terrible adjuster and their unwillingness to fight for me. The whole time the claim agent seemed to know very little and had to call back with answers after asking someone else. I do not recommend this company if you want insurance that will actually stand up for you.
