Warning: long review
I was a patient since the previous owner, Dr. Jay, when it was Ocotillo Lakes. He was awesome and a funny dude. Good service, kind workers, routine cleanings, etc. At that time only had to do one crown which went fine. One and done. However, the business turned over to new owners. After that period, I had an accident which prompted my crown to fall off. They called me in quickly to get it fixed on a Saturday morning. Although that was nice, for some reason they weren’t able to place it back appropriately. It was constant discomfort, even though they checked my bite on two separate appointments. Eventually, I started getting constant headaches. It was the worst feeling. I felt like my ears were going to explode. I could only sleep on one side. Drinking cold water felt like my gums were stabbed with a million needles at the same time. Sharp, lingering, throbbing pain. Every time I called the office and mentioned to them something was wrong, they brushed it off and said it was not infected and to give it time. Although i was as clear as possible what my symptoms were, they had zero urgency in scheduling a consultation. They made me work with their availability, even given the situation. No root canal, no new crown. Just telling me to wait in constant agony. A month and a half later, after getting tired of living my life on a pain suppressant schedule, I decided to get a second consultation at another dentist. They quickly determined that yes, it was infected, got me a root canal, and it was a nightmare gone all of a sudden. Once I had that consultation, they set me up with an in-house Endodontist two days later. I wish I had made that choice sooner in hindsight. I really enjoyed this place. The location, the service workers, the dentist, etc. I just didn’t see the point in paying $$ for them to dismiss my concerns. My experience may be one-off, but I just wanted to share my story in case there were others in my situation or looking for a potential dentist. Again- nothing against the Docs I hope my situation was an extenuating circumstance. I’m sure they’re great. Shoutout Megan the receptionist. She is awesome. I’ll give the one star for that, and the beautiful pond you can admire.
