The hvac co I use: dukes of air, who I originally purchased my unit in 2016 for my 1k sq foot condo, came out today for biannual maintenance check —which obviously doesn’t include removal and cleaning of blower wheel and housing, nor does it include cleaning out the water outflow drainage tube that collects foliage debris; which then cause water backup prompting another service call. Btw. I promptly dumped the monthly service fee to get two “system checks “ a year because it seems like once they find nothing they could create something. I’m not looking over their shoulder step by step and asking what are you doing, what does this mean? But I will for sure moving forward!! I keep my air at 77 and not lower, so there’s not a huge stress. They noted a slow leak in February and suggested a leak test. I didn’t do it at the time since he said it was slow. Today two guys come out, in their separate top of the line vehicles, and tell me I need my coil replaced; which is covered under warranty and scared me into schedule replacement for refrigeration leak and coil replacement along with the blower wheel cleaned, because, as the tech said look at what your breathing in (photo). Since the coil is covered under warranty I was quoted 4 hours labor, coils replacement and fan cleaned and refrigerant at 2400!! This is with my gold member discount since they have serviced my unit exclusively since day one. If it is a slow leak why would the coil need to be replaced? I have a ton of 1k plus expenses lately and am a widow with 1 income. The guy in Feb said it could wait until next year, but the guys today said that it could cause my compressor to blow! Yet my neighbors have their original trane from 30 yrs ago still working?? And it was very obvious that they had to return to the vehicle to come up with a price each time. It was obvious one lead sales guy was teaching a newer guy how to reel the money in for unnecessary repairs. Each time these baboons came out they found something to address that should have been caught by the previous tech. Don’t fall for their scare tactics Tony p needs to move back to the east coast where ripping someone off and is able to sleep at night is part of the norm.

Arizona Dukes of Air have been phenomenal over the last couple of years using their services. We just had a warranty repair done and from start to finish their communication on setting up the appointment, the estimated time of arrival, the explanation of the work done, and the completion invoices emailed were all exemplary! Andre our latest tech was so friendly and willing to answer questions! I’ll keep working with them since the service is top notch compared to other over priced big names out there.

Jeremy Wallace, an HVAC tech with Dukes of Air, has performed exemplary equipment service and thorough and professional customer service during several visits to service two AC/Heatpump splits at my residence. We have every confidence that the information Jeremy provides is detailed and accurate. There is never any pressure to “up-sell” a service. If there is ever any additional work recommended beyond the immediate equipment problem, he will explain the rationale and let the customer decide. As everyone reading this knows, professionalism at this level is uncommon in the HVAC industry. Jeremy is the real deal.

We had our swamp cooler serviced as we like to use it when it gets under 95 degrees since it cools the house down so much more than our AC does. Michael was on time, thorough, and professional. He gave us a detailed step by step update of what he did as part of the seasonal inspection as well as answered any questions we had. We use Dukes for our AC services also. Every encounter has been great with fair and transparent pricing .

We're in subrogation with our insurance with a claim against for a bad install/maintenance on our HVAC and the condensation line. They came to our home for this normal maintenance at the very start of July and poor maintenance occured. And they even stated on the invoice, which we refused to sign, that the condensation line was working well, as was the restof our system. Well then 3 weeks later it was apparent that leaked into our home causing thousands of dollars worth of damages and found to be from the faulty install and maintenance of the condensation line. When I called suspecting something wasn't right on the maintenance check visit before the leak and water damage was discovered, I shared that something was wrong with the maintenance check and the tech (Jordan)was acting like something happened but was trying to cover it up. There was excessive noise, banging, drilling, and our unit was turned off for an excessive time to the point of alarm. When I called the manager was very annoyed and condescending in response saying I didn't know what I was talking about and that Duke's had a higher level of service than Sure Temp with whom they recently merged with in February 2025. Nonetheless 3 weeks later b the leak made it into our home right in our main bedroom. When I called at 9am after having a plumber come look and find it to be the condensation line, Duke's said they couldn't get anyone out until 7pm... while the line continues to leak in my home and cause more water damage...? So I called another company and they came within the hour. However Duke's called back just as I was giving the other company permission to save our home from more damage and do the work. They said they would send someone to come fix it and they did, though he didn't fix it properly nor go into the attic to verify. The leak continued and was found when insurance sent mitigation over to help with damage and begin process. When calling Duke's again to slow them to fix their mistake again, they said it's not their fault, they already sent someone to fix it for free once(but it wasn't fixed as know), and there's nothing they can do about it. To say the least, I was done with them. I hired the other company, sent pictures, invoice both past and up until the day, including merger docs, website links to all they stated about the merger on both pair and the web, and even a BS invoice they edited stating that they had told us during a different maintenance check we were told the line was broken and we declined to have it fixed?!? I have the printout and electronic email receipt from actual maintenence on that date showing pictures and thorough documentation that all parts were working fine including the condensation line. Not to mention our unit is only a couple of years old. Our insurance had tried to contact them regarding their responsibility for damages and costs to no avail. They cannot figure out who or if they are insured, though Duke's states they are on their site "licensed and insured". My insurance said they found the last insurance carriers for then which no longer cover them and cannot find them under any other insurance as of yet... so either they're not insured and doing work on people's homes or they are avoiding responsibility. If they weren't worried they were at fault, I would think they'd be in conversation with our adjuster and/or theirs to figure things out and let them handle it at least. So truly, ZERO STARS. As for the message in reply below, try having Duke's of Air answer the many calls from our insurance adjusters and subrogation to address all of this?!
