  Tammilyn was amazing! I was in a lot of pain and she made sure to relax my whole body while still giving extra attention to my pain points. Pressure was perfect and I feel so much better! However, the price for booking online does not match the price at check out in person. And it’s a shame Ameristar has let the facilities degrade so much. The hot tub and steam room were broken & kinda dirty. The hot tub was lukewarm warm & jets splashed water everywhere. Steam room was cold & loud. Snacks stale and the sliced citrus was at least a week old. With how booked the Monarch always is, Ameristar is really fumbling the bag here. I only booked here because Monarch was full and I would come back if they cared a little more about their spa. I can imagine how many people would do the same.

  Paid for a 50 min massage and only got one for 30 min. Even though we showed up a couple minutes late, the massuse cut my time off before my original time. So my massage was cut short. This place is a rip off. And before anyone from the massage tries to respond to this and make themselves look like they are all about your wellnes, they did nothing about it and made me even more stressed than when I came in. I'm a disabled vet with ptsd and they made it worse, with the money I spent.

  Dawn my massage therapist was absolutely wonderful. She truly cares for the individual she is massaging; making sure she knows how to help you best relax and feel better. With my job and life, I carry a lot of stress in my neck and shoulders and apparently my lower back. Dawn made me crack, pop and relax in ways that I didn't know was possible. I was on cloud 9 after the massage. Overall, I have had a few massages in my life but none as good as Dawn. Highly recommend and will be coming back to see her the next time I am in Blackhawk. As far as the atmosphere, it was very warm and welcoming. Upon arrival I was offered a complimentary mimosa and shown around. After being shown around I relaxed in there beautiful lounge where there is relaxing meditation ambiance playing in the background, fruit infused water, tea, coffee, fruit and trail mix for you to enjoy. Due to a later appointment I was not able to enjoy the other amenities at the spa, such as the steam room or the private hot tub.
