Everything was fine with Aptive until I needed to pause my subscription. Once that happened, the tone of customer service member, Nathan Drake, completely changed — they became dismissive and downright rude. I used their service for an entire summer and paid a significant amount of money, but when I asked to pause my plan from November until May (so we could finish building our new home and hydroseed the yard), the representative’s attitude shifted immediately.
Because of that interaction with Nathan Drake Aptive lost out on thousands of dollars of future business from my husband and me — all over a $190 cancellation fee.
He refused to simply pause the service, which would have been a reasonable request. It’s disappointing to see a company treat loyal customers this way.
Nathan Drake even claimed he was “at the top of the pyramid,” when I asked to speak with a manager, which only reinforced how unprofessional and questionable the whole operation felt. Bad business, rude service, and an overall poor experience caused entirely by one person’s behavior. I was disappointed mostly because I'm sure another person who is more tempered and professional than this guy would have come up with a more reasonable meet in the middle solution.
We called them to help get rid of some unwelcomed visitors (bugs, including spiders) in the home. We paid for their services for 4-5 months with no significant difference in our home. We called to cancel and they insisted on a complimentary service but didn't cancel our services and denied us of being able to cancel and accused us of not canceling a month ago when we called them back to let them know we'd like to be let go of the services. They continued to ultimately say it didn't matter and we'd still need to be charged (a whole $200 to cancel and to pay for our monthly service on top of that, far past when we called to cancel in the first place!!!) terrible, absolutely terrible terms and service from this company. The employees that came out were great but the company and how they handle their customers and issues are THE WORST. WHAT A SCAM!!! I will never again get any kind of services from people that come to my door. I knew it sounded to good of a deal to be be true...you know what they say! LESSON LEARNED!! never again. What a poor business model. What a shame.

Well first of all it was a door to door salesman. High pressure for sure. I do not like toxic chemicals. He assured me they were all natural. Well when tec came to apply I looked at ingredients. Toxic for sure. Let him apply for spiders. I have had more spiders this summer than I have ever had. Application did zero good. Cancelled and had to pay 199 . Scam co. Beware. They were rude when I went to cancel. They got their money. Don’t let them get yours.

I had a deeply disappointing experience with Aptive Pest Control and would strongly advise against using their services. When I signed up, I was sold a dream that they would comprehensively address my pest issues in a specific order: first tackling the rodent problem, then handling the wasps, and finally treating the yard for ticks. Unfortunately, Aptive failed to deliver on these promises.
Their service consisted of little more than hanging a couple of wasp trap bags and spraying the house and perimeter with an unknown substance. Despite my explicit request for rodent control, they never conducted a rodent inspection or took any steps to address the issue. It became clear that the rodent problem, which was my primary concern, was completely ignored.
When I attempted to cancel my service due to their failure to perform, I was shocked to discover a $199 cancellation fee buried in the fine print. I reached out to the manager to discuss this, hoping for some resolution, but they were rude, unprofessional, and entirely unwilling to work with me. I was left feeling cheated, as I was being forced to pay for a service that was never provided.
Aptive’s lack of accountability, poor customer service, and failure to deliver on their promises made this a terrible experience. I strongly recommend avoiding this company. Save your money and look for a pest control service that actually delivers.

Beware!! I would choose zero stars if I could! We agreed to a one time trial without signing a contract either on paper or electronically, to see if it would help with the ants surrounding our house. After one month they charged our credit card a second time and wanted to schedule a visit. We said no we were not interested and they informed us we had signed a 24 month agreement. After creating an account online so I could see the documents they had on file, I informed them on the agreement the signature was not mine, that I was not asked to sign anything and that it was fraudulent. They said they’d look into it and cancel the account. Month 3 they tried to bill us a 3rd time and wanted to schedule an appointment. Called again and the supervisor said he could now sign us up for their cheapest plan!! Again we explained it was a fraudulent account signed document. We were then told that it would cost us $200 to cancel the account and that we could dispute it with our credit card. Mind you we never signed a contract and I have the photo evidence that proves it’s not my signature in any of their documents. Already have a dispute going with the credit card. Lesson learned the hard way, they send out salesmen who are not afraid to sign a document for you. Thankfully we bank locally and they had zero trouble realizing it’s not a signature of anyone in our household.
