I've used this company twice over the last few years and am very impressed. Last week with temps in the high 80s and low 90s my ac stopped working. I phone them late afternoon and they were here next day. Unfortunately the problem was with the blower motor on my gas furnace not my AC so it had to be ordered. The motor arrived today and they came out and repaired it immediately. The cost was as you can imagine not small but with research it was definitely not overcharged. The other company locally can't even give you a date for repair. Last time I called them the repairman called a MONTH later and said he was coming out. Fortunately Appalachian had already done the work and in just a day after I called them. Really nice too, Highly recommend.

I've always had many problems with this bunch of people over the years. They're not reliable, nor honest. Most of the time other workers have to be called to assist the ones on scene and they rig it up to work for a short time period. This time they were called out on June 13, 2025 and they sent a worker near quitting time. Worker said it's the fan motor and said he would call Monday to see if we wanted to order the part. Come Monday, no one calls. We order the part on our own and replace it. Heat pump still doesn't work. He only spent 5 minutes, 7 at the most here and collected $85 for bullshit. I do not recommend this business.
In Whitesburg, we replaced a 50-year-old GE Weathertron on a two-story home with two new heat pumps—one per floor. The crew did excellent work on the new duct system, keeping each floor well isolated and making sure the outdoor units were neatly installed. They were responsive, professional, and clearly cared about quality.
That said, the system required significant optimization afterward. I discovered several setup issues with the air handlers, thermostats, and drainage that caused high humidity and poor cooling. When I raised concerns, Harold initially said this was normal—it wasn’t—but they did send someone out to adjust things. Efficiency improved about 30% after those corrections and humidity and cooling upstairs was no longer an issue.
Note that this company isn’t part of Kentucky Power’s Trade Ally Program, so I missed out on a $900 rebate. If rebates aren’t a priority, that may not matter.
Overall, I’d still recommend them for their craftsmanship and responsiveness, but you should be well informed about your equipment and performance expectations—they don’t always get the setup perfect the first time.

This is a company that actually services what they sell.
They installed our unit 9 years ago. This was the first time we have had trouble with it. The repairman showed up when he said he would be there. He went to work right away and had our unit fixed in no time.
My wife was home when the repairs when made. She said the repair man was polite and extra careful not to make a mess.
The price they charged was very reasonable for this day and time.
If we have we every have trouble again the will be the first place we call.
Thank you, for taking care of us!
Brad and his crew were very professional in installing my new unit. They are well equipped with meters and completely knowledgeable . They were very polite about helping keep the inside of my house clean while working both inside and out. Would recommend their services .
