Ive been going to ameristar for years. Its moms favorite spot so its a frequent stop for me too. I hate to say it but my last two stays, it was just so sub par and disappointing because I expect such a great experience usually. And when I didnt have a great experience, I spoke to a guest experience specialist and he cared less in recovering me and making me happy than the two security guards I had to talk to. In my first stay, I requested a towel pickup, trash pickup, and fresh towels at the front desk. Said they were coming but never showed so I did on m6 own. Then I noticed the shower curtain was dirty and told front desk and they assured me a work order was put in but maintenance never showed. Then as im leaving one night, chuck, the robot security rolled up to the front of my car and I thought stopped just in front of it but turns out he did bump into it (tiny paint exchange, no real damage) and as I tried to reverse, he went foraard not allowing me to get around until I went faster. Then I check in yesterday amd my room was still dirty but they said I had to come down from the top floor to get the keys and had just lugged my way too many bags to the top floor and wasnt about to go back down and back up as im having health issues so I just stayed in the dirty room. And the halls have weirdly smelled of sewage on snd off throughout my stay. Worst of all was telling William and him having no cares really that my experiences have been rough and offered no chance to redeem me as a guest. Extremely disapointing.
I guess when you have a comp room one should NOT expect it to be clean. The pictures represent rose petals all over the room and a empty toilet roll paper under bathroom sink. Then let's not ask for courtesy when your partner arrives later then you and you add her to your room and the supervisor wants to be a jerk for nice terms when she questioned her name and what I gave them. Please dont tell me about security issues if that was true you at the very least would have called the room to make sure of the name not just give them a key to my room. Then to find out the lock on door didn't work just the latch part. Then the last kicker was the fire alarm going off at 415am. Needless to say all things free are the best because this stay was far from it. Do better Ameristar with housekeeping, customer service, and make sure all things work like a lock on a door!! There are more hotels to go to maybe not free but all around better.
So I stop by after years of avoiding this place with a hope that a change took place. Change did take place, it’s gotten worse. The entire place is filled with smoke and dirty ash trays. The machines are so outdated and a lot have broken buttons. To add to the horrible setting they now have extremely loud music blasting you out. Between the music and machines people are yelling to be heard. I asked a manager to turn down the music but the typical response has been the controls a preset by management and the cannot be changed. I will not be returning to Ameristar any time soon. There are so many better options now in Nebraska. I hope this review helps you find a better place.

Worst stay one ever had. I came there after having a chemo treatment and wanted nothing more than to lay down then relax in the whirlpool. Well when I got there at 5:45pm I was told I couldn’t get a key to my room because the system was down. I wasted $15 on a meal I couldn’t eat because I felt sick. Went back to the desk a few hours later and still can’t get a key.
Finally around 10p I was able to get a key. Also I didn’t mention I stayed at the hotel because I had to be at the airport at 4am. I wasted definitely planning on going to bed early. I had to shower and repack my bags. So getting up at 3am I didn’t get much sleep.
I was very upset and frustrated that nothing could be done earlier to resolve the problem. I wasted an excellent comp king suite with a whirlpool. I just basically took a quick and went to bed. When I only had a few hours to sleep there was no time to sit and enjoy it.
The $15-17 I wasted on a meal upset me too. I planned on lying down for awhile then getting something to eat when I felt better.
I wonder what do you do when there’s no power or disasters? You have NO backup to take care of your customers?
I honestly think you owe me a food comp and room comp for this mess. Same room king suite with whirlpool and 2 Friday night buffet comps. I don’t get to stay away too often due to my condition. So a Friday stay with my my husband and the crab leg buffet would be very nice. Especially for someone going through chemo and kidneys failing. My outings are limited.

The rooms are clean and the staff friendly. I would recommend a stay here. Not sure but i believe the rates are resonable. Of course that depends on what events are in the area. IE college world series etc. My room was comped. The food at the Bistro 1853 is phenomenal. Great breakfast. There's also a buffet and 1 or 2 other dining options. You can get online, order your food, then pick it up when you're ready. Convenient. Throw in the right amount of luck and take some money home with you from the casino. Really good promos and comps. I'd say amongst the best in the area. The indoor pool is nice. The gym is small but sufficient. Down side. No valet, no room service. In the middle of the night the food situation is minimal to nothing. There is some junk food snacks at the front desk and some vending machines so you're not completely without. If there's leftovers from dinner, take it down the hall and reheat it in the microwave in the ice room. There is a soda/water vending machine there as well.($2.00 soda/water). Plenty of table games and quite a few slots. Wish they had more video keno. Smoking on the casino floor. So if you're bothered by it . Then don't bother coming. There is a little non smoking area and the ventilation seems to be ok. So I don't believe you'll get totally choked out. You're in the heartland nebraska/iowa so the people there are generally pretty friendly. Tip and take care of the staff there. They are working hard.
Thanks ameristar.
