He WILL rip you off. I get 4,000lbs. in my hoppers every time. Took it to him a few times and only got 3,500lbs (by his scale that you can't see). Went to another yard after that and there was 4,000lbs. every time. Others that I know have had the same experience. Steve will rip you off.

What are your hours of operation?
We are open from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Friday. We are closed on weekends.

Do you accept metal from the public?
Absolutely! In addition to getting scrap metal from our commercial and industrial accounts, we also accept scrap metal from the public. And we pay cash!
Do you pay cash?
Yes - we pay cash!
What type of metal do you buy?
We purchase all types of scrap metal. This includes shred (cars, appliances, yard tractors, etc.), tin, file cabinets, brake rotors, steel beams, angles, and much more -- FOR CASH!
Do you take televisions?
No.
Do you take metal fencing?
Yes - well kind of. We only accept metal fencing that is galvanized or painted. If the fencing has a plastic coating or plastic slats running through it, we are not able to accept it.

What type of material do you not accept?
• Tires (excluding what is already on a junked car)
• Any tanks that have not been drained and do not have holes punched through them
• Any commercial oil filters that do not have a certificate stating that they have been cleaned
• Propane tanks that have not had the valve unscrewed (not cut off) from them
• Cans filled with paint
• Plastic dishwashers
• Computer boards
• Plastic
• Wood
Do you unload vehicles?
This is tricky. Even though we have a wide variety of equipment that can unload trucks and trailers, we are hesitant in doing this. However, American Steel processing is not responsible for any damage to the vehicle during the unloading process.
