Terrible staff and customer service. Preferred to order online than purchasing from this store with rude attitudes.
I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding an unacceptable experience I had at your store involving the manager, Marlene.
I recently visited the store to return an item I had purchased — it was brand new, with the receipt and tax included. An employee was courteous and willing to process the return without issue. However, when Manager Marlene intervened, she refused to complete the return. Her demeanor was dismissive, rude, and unnecessarily confrontational.
This is not the first time I’ve had a negative experience with Marlene. On multiple occasions, she has treated me disrespectfully and made me feel uncomfortable while shopping. During my recent visit, I also witnessed her being unreasonably difficult with another customer.
I feel this behavior crosses the line into harassment and may be discriminatory in nature. As a result, I intend to consult with legal counsel to discuss my options regarding filing a formal complaint for discrimination and harassment.
I am requesting that this matter be investigated thoroughly. I expect a response from customer service and for appropriate action to be taken regarding Marlene’s conduct. No customer should have to feel mistreated or targeted while shopping.
I have also noticed that multiple customer reviews mention similar negative experiences with the same manager, Marlene. This suggests a pattern of unprofessional behavior that should not be ignored.

Superb customer service. The ladies in the store were very helpful and facilitating, helped us with a complicated exchange and were very understanding. Thank you Maya!❤️

Terrible customer service at Alo. All I wanted to do was exchange two pairs of shorts my mom had bought for my husband for a size up. Tags were still attached, and they were in the original store bag. The employee was able to look them up, found both in the size I needed—although one required switching colors because the original color wasn’t available. After all that, they asked for a receipt, which I didn’t have because I didn’t want to hurt my elderly mom’s feelings. She was so proud of getting him something “cool.”
I was told the exchange wasn’t possible because it would “mess up their system.” Really? If your system can’t handle a basic retail exchange, then it’s your system that needs an upgrade, not my request. It’s upsetting because I still enjoy actually going to the mall, but experiences like this are exactly why in-person shopping is becoming a thing of the past.

Terrible service at Alo. Tried to exchange 2 pairs of shorts (tags on, in original bag) for a bigger size—one even had to be a different color. Staff found them in stock but refused the exchange without a receipt, saying it would “mess up their system.” If your system can’t handle a basic exchange, that’s on you. This is exactly why people avoid shopping in stores anymore.
