Frequently Asked Questions About All American Carpet & Tile
How long does the carpet take to dry?
Depends on type of carpet, how dirty it is and the weather outside. Polyester or polypropylene carpets are oil-based and may take longer to dry. We recommend running an absorbent bonnet over the carpet after the cleaning to speed up dry times dramatically. Ask the technicians about it! The dirtier it is, the more moisture must be used to clean it. Sunny days with low humidity allow it to dry faster. On average, most carpets dry in 4 to 8 hours.
Why do my carpets get dirty faster after the last guy cleaned it?
Perhaps he used too much soap or didn't neutralize his detergent. We pre-treat the traffic areas and spots with an alkaline organic enzyme and then rinse it with hot water mixed with an acidic rinsing agent thus leaving the carpet residue free and a neutral ph.
Why do stains return?
The stain may be lower than basic cleaning can get to. Hot water extraction via a truck mounted steam cleaning machine is the deepest type of cleaning but it can only clean 2/3 of a carpet fiber. Any lower and the technician is using too much water. The residues work themselves back to the surface as the carpet dries and begin attracting soil again. If you have this problem, performing a subsurface cleaning on these stubborn spots is the answer. We can use a special tool to pretreat, rinse and dry the area all the way down to the padding where that residue is stuck. We guarantee the spot doesn't return!
Are carpet stain protectors worth it?
YES! They can add protection around the fiber similar to waxing a car to protect the paint to last longer. Carpet fiber have little dye sites and a protector application puts a barrier around those dye sites helping to prevent permanent staining. It also helps your carpet to last longer...sometimes years longer before needing replacement. It can bring back the fluffy, almost new look you once had so don't worry if you think you already missed the window! It is never too late to apply a stain protection product.
Can you really get my sofa clean? And how long will it take to dry?
Yes, I love having my furniture cleaned almost more than my wall to wall carpet or area rugs! It feels so nice and smells great. Our bodies have oils and greases on them and these can be transferred to our furniture everyday. We use product made for furniture fabrics because they can be made of different materials than carpet. The specialized tools used only wet the fabric and not the batting or stuffing therefore, furniture fabrics dry quickly.
