I can't say enough about Air Medics. From the person on the phone who scheduled my appointment to the technician who came out, they were polite, friendly and very professional. My AC went out this past weekend and all Floridians know how catastrophic that is. I called Air Medics and they were here when they said they would be here. They are honest and their concern for my welfare was so reassuring. I would recommend AirMedics to anyone who needs A/C service, repair or replacement.

I got a second opinion from Air Medics and the difference in not only customer service and the quality of technician but also the price was significantly better with Air Medics than the previous company. I would recommend to both family and friends. The technician Fabian did an outstanding job on replacing my AC unit and was very personable and friendly. Thank you guys would recommend 100%.
Frequently Asked Questions About Air Medics A/C and Heating, Inc.
Is it good to have a service contract or preventative maintenance plan with my AC contractor?
Yes, a service contract or preventative maintenance plan offers numerous advantages for homeowners and businesses aiming to maintain their air conditioning systems' efficiency. These plans typically include regular maintenance, which helps prevent unexpected breakdowns and ensures optimal performance. Routine inspections and servicing can extend your equipment's lifespan, potentially saving you money on premature replacements. Well-maintained AC units operate more efficiently, which can lead to reduced energy consumption and lower utility bills. Many service contracts offer priority scheduling, ensuring faster response times for repairs. Some plans also include discounts on parts and labor, helping to mitigate unexpected repair costs. Finally, knowing that professionals regularly inspect and maintain your AC system provides peace of mind, assuring you that it will perform reliably when needed most.
Why is it better to use a licensed AC contractor than my neighbor's brother-in-law?
Opting for a licensed AC contractor ensures that your air conditioning system is serviced by a qualified professional who meets industry standards. Licensed contractors have undergone extensive training and certification, enabling them to handle HVAC systems safely and effectively. They adhere to local and national building codes, ensuring proper installation and repair of your system. Licensed professionals carry insurance, which protects you from liability in case of accidents or damages. Many manufacturers require licensed professionals to perform repairs and installations to maintain warranty validity. These contractors have access to approved parts and equipment, which can improve your system's efficiency and longevity. Conversely, unlicensed work may lead to improper installations, inefficiencies, and potential safety hazards.
How long do AC systems last in Florida?
In Florida, air conditioning systems typically have a lifespan of 8 to 12 years due to the state's challenging climate conditions. The intense summer heat, high humidity, and constant operation place significant stress on AC units, leading to accelerated wear and tear on critical components. Systems often work overtime to combat high temperatures, which can hasten deterioration. Coastal properties face additional challenges, as salt air can corrode metal parts, potentially shortening the system's lifespan further. To maximize your AC's longevity, regular maintenance is crucial. This includes changing air filters, cleaning coils, and scheduling professional tune-ups to ensure efficient operation and extend the system's useful life.
What should I do in an electrical emergency?
In the event of an electrical emergency related to your air conditioning system or home wiring, follow these safety procedures: First, if your AC unit is exhibiting unusual behavior such as sparking, smoking, or making strange noises, turn off the power at the breaker panel if it's safe to do so. Avoid any contact with exposed wires and refrain from attempting repairs yourself, as electrical issues can be hazardous. If there's an electrical fire or someone is injured, immediately contact emergency services. During power outages or if you notice downed electrical lines, inform your local utility company. In case of an electrical fire, use a Class C fire extinguisher and never attempt to extinguish it with water. Once immediate dangers are addressed, contact a licensed electrician or our HVAC specialists to inspect your system and confirm it's safe for use.
Why is my HVAC system not heating or cooling properly?
Common reasons include:
Dirty air filters
Thermostat issues
Blocked vents or ductwork
Low refrigerant levels (for cooling)
Malfunctioning components, such as a blower motor or compressor
A professional technician can diagnose the issue.
How do I know what size HVAC system I need?
HVAC size is determined by a Manual J load calculation, which considers your home’s size, insulation, windows, and climate. An improperly sized system (too large or too small) can lead to inefficiency and discomfort.
How does my HVAC system affect indoor air quality?
HVAC systems circulate air, so dirty filters, ducts, or coils can spread dust, allergens, or mold. Adding air purifiers, UV lights, or high-quality filters (e.g., HEPA) can improve air quality.
How often should I service my HVAC system?
Most experts recommend servicing your HVAC system twice a year—once in the spring for the cooling system and once in the fall for the heating system. Regular maintenance extends system life and improves efficiency.
