I am delighted to recommend Affordable Adventures after experiencing this event on June 9, 2025 under Ann's professional guidance. We secured them for the Night Lighting Ceremony of Mt. Rushmore. Beautiful and patriotic. When I asked, the Mt Rushmore hotel staff also endorsed the AA company. Staff stated they received many positive comments about this tour group from their guests. Note: Another local tour made an change to our reservation agreement having us to cancel and scramble to make this happen quickly. Ann was raised in the area and is very knowledgeable about sharing past and current history of the Black Hills area. She also showed us the original area of town, drove the Iron Mountain Road, stopped for a photo op and then escorted us to the best seats in the arena for the Rushmore ceremony. I have already submitted a strong recommendation to my big bus tour company to add AA as an optional excursion for the benefit of their travelers.

Five-Star Tour Experience! We had an amazing experience on our tour of the B lack Hills. Ann was absolutely fantastic! Her knowledge of the area’s rich history added so much depth to the day, and we learned so much from her. It happened to be a rainy day, but Ann skillfully adjusted the route to make sure we could still enjoy the scenic overlooks once the clouds lifted — and the views were stunning! She never made us feel rushed and patiently answered all of our many questions with enthusiasm and insight. This tour was well worth the expense. Ann's professionalism, flexibility, and deep understanding of the region made it a truly memorable experience. Highly recommend!

We did a fully customized tour with Ann. Combined items from a couple of tours into one that was perfect for our family. The tour company was so accommodating and flexible…something that other tour companies would NOT do. Devils Tower was incredible. We loved the hike around the base. We had a terrific lunch at 77 Steakhouse and then had some fun touring Deadwood. Lead and Spearfish Canyon were the last stops on our tour of over 275 miles traveled in one day. The views and waterfalls in Spearfish Canyon were a highlight for sure. Ann was SO informative and has strong historical ties to the area. The information she shared with us was the cherry on top! If you have an opportunity to tour with her grab it! She is amazing.

Affordable Adventures was fabulous even before I went on the tour. I'm a solo traveler and I had called them about a month before my trip to Rapid City, tried to reserve a tour of the Badlands. They were very accommodating and helpful to coordinate a tour for me and another solo traveler who was also looking to book during the same weekend. The two of us ended up being the only two on the tour and it was a fabulous day having Trevor as our guide/driver. Because there was just two of us, we were able to go at a quicker pace through some of the stops, and that allowed us some extra time to walk a short trail at the Badlands, which was awesome. The landscapes are so beautiful and unique. Trevor made a handful of stops while driving through Badlands, so that we could see the most scenic views. There were plenty of restroom breaks along the day's route and the van was equipped with snacks which were definitely needed because we didn't eat lunch until after 3pm. We ate lunch near Wall Drug and there really wasn't any other option to eat lunch earlier, so I would suggest maybe bringing some extra snacks or packing a sandwich for the car. Stephanie at the office was also very helpful in suggesting another tour company for a Mount Rushmore tour on another day because she knew I was having trouble finding a tour to accommodate solo me. Affordable Adventures was such a pleasure to plan and guide my tour, they are definitely worth the cost to have someone else drive and navigate so I can enjoy the sights and not rent a car.
