I did prepare by creating a list of things to do and by buying parts in advance. We had a phone discussion the night before. He phoned me. He brought usual tools, but he did use my extensible tool to replace lamps in my 17-foot ceiling. I had used that tool myself when I was younger. I had that tool since we bought the house years ago. I could afford the cost of his work.
