  I made a purchase of a backpack on Friday 10/3/25 because there aren’t many stores in Wichita Falls that carry backpacks for camping. I needed a backpack and didn’t want to stake a chance at not having one so I purchased it thinking if I found another I could return it. Well I found another more suitable one and returned the Academy purchase the same day 10/3/25. I checked my account today and the refund hasn’t posted. Not sure I’m interested in delays for profit so no more Academy. I understand interest and tomfoolery. Deuteronomy 24:13

  I recently visited Wichita Falls from Jackson, MIssissippi, I have friends in Texas & we are going hog hunting and I needed gun. So I came to the Wichita Academy sports, & there Mr. Danny helped me in the firearms department. He was not only knowledgeable and professional, he was kind and polite. He probably answered 40 of my questions and he did it with a smile. He exemplifies what a good employee and a good human being should be. Thanks Mr. Danny for making my trip to Texas a little better.   Poor customer service! They are rude, unfriendly, and unhelpful. They dont make eye contact, smile, greet the customer or offer any assistance. The experience I had at this location was unbelievable. The employees make sure to avoid the customer. I'm so disappointed.

  I went my 1st time to Academy here in Wichita Falls. What a horrible experience! I was prompted to get the store card for my purchase. The Cashier clearly didn’t know what he was doing! Then several other employees were called & no one could help! I was told to call the 800#. Now with a Credit card I’ll never use thx to the awful way I was treated here.. and I don’t have my purchase item as well as after I agreed to the CC! This was the most disappointing experience I’ve ever encountered!!!! I will tell of my experience to all that I know , and advise anyone not to patronize Academy Sports!!!
