  We visited the Academy Sports in Concord, NC on Sunday October 19th, 2025 at 7:45 pm. Fast forward to when we were ready to check out, we got in line at the customer service register. We waited for around 5 minutes. When we finally got to the front of the line, the lady at the register (a light skinned, blk woman named MARIA) loudly shouted across the other registers to her fellow co-worker and said "HEY, ARE YOU OPEN"? to which her co-worker replied "YES". Maria then in return said "OKAY, I AM JUST WONDERING WHY THESE FOLKS WAITED IN MY LINE AND DIDN'T TRY TO CHECK OUT SOMEWHERE ELSE". Maria then proceeded to motion us over very rudely and with an attitude wave us to come here like we were cattle. I told her we were not her children and she was not going to speak to me and my family this way. She replied " WELL NEXT TIME YOU SHOULD LOOK AROUND THE STORE FOR OTHER CASHIERS INSTEAD OF WAITING IN MY LINE". It took a lot for me to hold back but I kept my composure because my children were there. If you look at previous reviews from this Concord, NC location, MARIA'S name comes up several times as being a very rude person. Academy, I attempted to contact the store manager and or general manager but had no luck in getting anyone to answer my phone call. Feel free to reach out. In the mean time, I will NEVERRRR return to this location.

  Drove and hour and a half to this location to buy a specific e-bike they had listed online. Upon arrival and buying the bike they could not find the key used in removing the battery for charging. They basically said "sorry we can't find the key i dont know what to tell you". So we had to return the bike and drive another hour to a different academy. They also said they've sold multiple e bikes to people and not given them the charger and keys. Watch out if your shopping for e bikes here.

  Bill at your gun counter is very unprofessional and needs to drop the attitude if you want to sell people firearms. He is ignorant of North Carolina state law and his entitlement is absolutely ridiculous. I will definitely be going to a small business for my purchase today. Absolutely piss poor attitude. This will be my last trip to Academy sports.
