Hello, I had a very bad experience and I feel like I was even scammed in some way, because I was stopped and pressured by one of the Academy employees, named Ana, to open a credit card since she would receive Bath & Body products in exchange for opening four accounts. Wanting to help her, and because she was holding me there and pressuring me quite a lot, I asked if I could just do the application and then, once approved, still cancel the offer. She told me yes, that even if the application was approved, I could still cancel and she would get her products and it would not affect my credit in any way.
That turned out to be a complete lie, because the application was approved and the account was opened automatically, without asking me if I was sure about accepting the credit. I had no choice but to continue with the transaction, thinking that maybe if I didn’t use the card I could still cancel it later without affecting my credit. As soon as I left the store, I realized how wrong I was, because it affected my credit instantly, and closing the account would damage my credit even more.
I don’t think this is the right way to treat a customer. I am truly upset with the service I received, and despite the large amount of money I spent shopping at Academy, I left feeling scammed and very sad. Please take action so that situations like this do not happen again, because your employees should not be playing with someone’s credit just to receive some Bath & Body products.
