  If you are in need of fishing stuff. Go to Derick at fishing! He will help you and absolutely tell you the go to trips and tricks. The whole store and staff is absolutely amazing. Thanks you a great experience!

  I was very hopeful this would be my new favorite outdoors store over Fin Feather and Fur for its prices, but was disappointed. Ammo and gun prices are on par with Fin's (expensive regular prices, gotta get a good sale to get a deal). 223/556 for $0.65/round (20rd box) or $0.55/round (50rd box) and average prices for 8-shot 12ga ($10/box) weren't the door busters I was hoping for. I guess the best deal was 9mm at $10/box, but you do better at Fin on their sales. Another thing I was looking for was light line (2-4lb, his-vis braid or mono). I found neither. Fin's selection of fishing line was - I think - much better. Prices weren't anything special either. Gun selections were few (pistol or long guns). Prices seemed high for the few offerings available. Lots of Savage rifles. So I guess this is a more outdoorsman-friendly place than Dick's Sporting Goods (which now focuses on sports but still features a tiny and sad section of fishing), probably offering more value, but if you're an outdoorsman, you'll be disappointed if you compare it to Fin Feather Fur just a bit down the road. I didn't look at their sports offerings, so I can't comment on that regard. My only other experience with Academy was being pleasantly surprised at the huge fishing section when I went in one while visiting Florida. The offerings in Boardman's store was definitely unlike the one in the sunshine State!

  Drove from Pennsylvania looking for baseball cleats. They had a great selection. Found a pair for my son that were perfect. While we were there, saw signs everywhere for 50% off Magellan Outdoors Clothing. Brought 2 full archery outfits for my boys to the register. Young lady at register rang them up and they came up full price. She quickly said "oh this has been happening all weekend, and quickly tried to change it. Couldn't get it to switch so she approached a manager. The manager comes over cranky as all and snaps the are wrong and there aren't signs over there and it doesn't cover camo stuff. I'm sorry apparently I dont know the meaning of "outdoors" but there are signs everywhere around that department. I take a young man over and he shows me the fine print on sign and I see the difference. No big deal...so we go back and we decide not to proceed with the full price. The cranky manager continues to say oh come back they'll go on sale....well lady they go on sale everywhere....you lost your chance with the attitude. Took a sale that would have been well over $100 to near $30 bc she was so unpleasant. I get it signs and sales aren't always 100% clear, but her attitude ruined what would have been a 5 star experience and took it to a 1 star. Some individuals just shouldn't work with the public if they are going to be that miserable. Other than that lady we had a great experience and everyone was super helpful. The advertising however needs to be more clear with words that clearly tell the consumer what's included and what's not. Especially if your hiring people like that lady...who clearly doesn't relate to people.
