- MCMatt ChatfieldOct 21, 20251.0Disappointed. Placed an online order for items I stock. My wife pickup the order and the two baseball gloves were not what we ordered. Not even the correct hand. Because we paid with gift cards there was an issue apparently with us returning them. While the customer service team worked on it, my wife went over to the baseball aisle and picked out two other expensive gloves while I talked her through it on the phone. After checking out she called on the way home to tell me the price for my son’s glove was $40 more expensive. When I called the store to let them know what happened, the girl told me it was online pricing and there was nothing she could do. When I explained that we originally tried purchasing and asked to speak to a manager she became annoyed. A lady manager then answered the phone and informed me that the employee informed her I was cursing and that I would need to call customer service team to resolve. It wasn’t until I stated that I had my truck dash came recording the conversation and never did I curse and was happy to address this with corporate with proof, that she was willing to help. Ultimately, I was able to get the $40 original online price returned but it took almost 2hrs of phone calls and extremely rude customer service. Had it not been for the $200 in gift cards I would have walked away and just purchased everything from Amazon. It would have been easier and cheaper. As someone who worked for Academy way back during my college days, this new store in Kyle has been a big disappointment in regards to customer service and accurate pricing on the shelf.
