I was referred here by another shop and am so happy I gave them a call. I am new to the area and of course my car decided to start having issues. A & J transmission not only took a look at my car but they gave a detailed explanation about what was happening and educated me on what to look out for to prevent further damage. They absolutely could have upcharged me for services I did not need but instead they took the time to make sure I felt safe in my vehicle without unnecessary work being done. I will be returning for any future work that needs done on my car!

Do not go here unless you have a spare car to drive and a lot of time to waste. I had a great first experience here in April when they replaced a bad solenoid for $1,000 LESS than another place quoted. Communication was great and the repair was done quickly. When I returned in July for a warranty issue with the previous repair, things went downhill — they had my car for about two weeks with almost no updates. The staff were polite but rarely had information when I called every few days, and it felt like my car wasn’t a priority since it was warranty work. It caused me a lot of issues with my job. In October, I scheduled an appointment and dropped my car off for a diagnosis on more transmission issues. I was hesitant to come back but I was worried the issue might be related to the previous repair. I called them after 3 days, I was told it was just low on CVT fluid and ready for pickup. I asked why it was low and they said they weren’t sure because there are no leaks but I could stop back by in a few days and they could check again. They said my key was in lockbox #3 and gave me the code. When I arrived that Fri night the lockbox was open and empty, my car was left UNLOCKED (so unprofessional!), and a tire was completely FLAT. I couldn’t drive it home even with a spare key. The shop was closed all weekend, and I couldn’t reach anyone until Monday. Monday they apologized and said the issue with the tire couldn’t be fixed so I bought 2 new tires for $300. A few hours after pick up I went elsewhere for an oil change and was informed I have a transmission leak. When I asked how bad it was they said 5/10. Between poor communication and repeated mistakes, I’ve lost trust in this business. As a woman, trust and communication are especially important — the auto industry often takes advantage of women, and experiences like this make it harder to feel confident bringing my car in for service.
