My experience with this guy was strange right from the start. This is a home-base business. I have a small battery operated lawnmower, which I love because I like its lightness. Well I actually broke the height adjustment lever cause it’s cheap. It’s plastic. It just snapped off and so I took it to this guy and he gave me directions on how to get to his house, but I don’t think he made the directions very clear or maybe I wasn’t listening very well , but, when I got there, I parked My car in the driveway and called him to Let him know that I was there, he began raising his voice and getting irate Because I parked in the driveway and not on the street by the gate, at the same time, his wife Was in the yard and walking quickly toward me With the angry face , I think she was yelling. I moved my car and I parked on the side Of the house., where the gate to the backyard is where he does his repairs. This probably happens a lot. Perhaps they just get tired of people, not listening Not parking where they tell him to park, but I thought it was really strange to treat me like that when I’m Paying customer.
I told him the problem With my mower and he told me that he would look at it on Monday. that was Saturday ,he told me he could just put screws in and so the height adjustment wouldn’t change. It would just stay put and I said that sounds fine. and then Monday I called and he said we’re actually closed. which is weird cause he said he was gonna look at it on Monday so then I say OK and then I checked back the end of the week and he said the part is on order and I thought the part is on Order? I thought you were going to adjust the height so it would just stay put and but he went ahead and ordered a part. I said OK so then the next week this is the coming up on the end of the second week he says it’s coming from China and I said well why don’t we just cancel that and do it like you said you’re gonna do in the first place he said OK He said it was gonna be $120 To fix it. I About flipped out and then he reduced it down to $79. I had to go to the bank to take a cash advance off of a credit card. and this is three weeks and I then picked up my lawnmower and I took it home and I tried to cut the grass, but it was it was too close to ground, and it kept shutting off, and wearing out The battery.So then I called him and told him it wasn’t right I said you’re gonna fix my lawnmower the right way. The height adjustment is too low is too low to the ground and he said” what do you mean?”? I couldn’t believe it ! what do you mean What do you mean?? you’re a lawnmower repair man! You don’t know what that means, so I took it back to him. I told him that I would sit and wait while he fixed it cause I Wasn’t going to leave it because I already been waiting three weeks, He fixed it right that time only took him 15 to 20 minutes I tried it on his grass. I brought The charger with me.I thought I would be bold and I said, “You should give me money back because you charged me $79 just to put in two screws and kept it for three Weeks and it wasn’t right, Or at least give me half the money back” and at this point, He and his wife both got pretty upset With me and the wife started yelling and pointing her finger at me And ordered Me off the property and told me never come back I said “fine. And I left” Why would I need to come back anyway? I gave him $79. I expected it to be done right the first time, He should’ve looked at the blade and seeing how close it was the ground, but he didn’t . I also heard him say that they don’t make the part anymore so why would we be waiting that long for to come from China If it doesn’t even exist.
Mr. Rick, I don’t need any ill will towards you. I know you work really hard but you should’ve looked to make sure the blade wasn’t too close to the ground and you shouldn’t have kept it for three weeks and charge me so much. I wish you all Best, God bless. Thank you
