My wife and I visited the 7 Brew here in Farmington this afternoon. It was extremely busy -- new place, just very recently opened!! -- but I was ... underwhelmed.
An order taker was there by our car as soon as we were in the drive thru lane, but there was no menu visible anywhere, and the order taker had no menu with her -- though she was able to point at a QR code we could scan with our phone, except that QR was 3 car lengths ahead of us. (NOTE: Immediately to our left was a nice-sized blank wall that would be a PERFECT place for a large, readable menu ... but nope.) The order taker had no useful information about drinks available -- it was our first time at a 7 Brew, so our inquiring minds wanted to know our options -- so she told us, "Well, basically, we can make whatever your want. What would you like?" (Not actually helpful. NOTE: Having a printed menu to hand to drivers would have been VERY helpful!)
I was eventually able to pull up a menu on my phone, but the order taker didn't know the "named" drinks on that menu and didn't know how to enter those on her tablet. We finally settled for a simple lemonade for my wife and a hot "Pumpkin Pie" latte for me. The order taker took our order, dealt with the charge card, and when we moved up to receive our order, the person running out the orders ... took our drinks to the wrong lane and the wrong car. Our drinks got to us eventually (probably only several minutes of waiting time). Sadly, my drink had no discernible pumpkin or pie flavor, though it was nicely hot, sweet, and creamy. My wife told me her lemonade wasn't really any better than a glass of "lemonade" drink she could make from "Country Time" dry mix and water.
I realize today was very soon after this store had recently first opened for business, but we were both looking forward to this -- unfortunately, today was NOT a great experience. I love the idea of 7 Brew and its variety of flavor and mix possibilities, but, like it or not, the local Starbucks or Scooters both "work" better at this point ... and so do any of several local non-chain coffee shops.
Will this always be SNAFU, or will things improve soon? I don't know, but I'm guessing it will be some time before I return. I rated "3 stars" because it wasn't a "bad" experience, but it wasn't a good one -- and it was a disappointing experience.
NOTE: Our order taker did not mention anything about the Veteran's Day special of 50% discounted on a drink for vets -- which would've been applicable for me.
