Overall, just absolutely not worth the endless headache of living here, especially considering the ridiculously high prices for what you get.
Pros:
- very accessible to metro/bus and essentials like grocery stores and pharmacies
- front desk, maintenance, and cleaning staff are polite and responsive
Cons:
- mold covering walls, vents look like they haven't been cleaned in years. could barely see out of my window it was so dirty.
- the whole building is just extremely dirty. Despite the maintenance staff's best attempts, it's just so run down on a systemic level it can't be fixed by band-aid solutions.
- leasing office/property management is neglectful and unprofessional. rarely, if ever, respond to issues, and are rude and honestly sketchy.
- laundry machines are frequently out of order, and even when they're functional, don't get clothes fully clean or dry.
- rental payment system is wonky and very out of date
- residents get into physical altercations in common areas, pull fire alarms unnecessarily, scream at each for hours, and management does nothing
- not really anyone's fault, but the apartments facing the street are so, so noisy because of the hospital and fire departments nearby.
- generally, the building just does not feel safe, especially as a young woman. frequent unsavory interactions with others.

This place is ok but overrated and over priced with no amenities at all. It has a gym and rooftop with nothing. It has a lot of MOLD IN THE BUILDING. THEY HAVE CUT OUT MOLD IN THE UNIT 3TIMES. I HAVE LOST SO MUCH OF MY BELONGINGS IT'S CRAZY. THE MAN IN THE LEASING OFFICE ISN'T PROFESSIONAL AT ALL. JUST BEING HONEST💯

I moved to DC for a job. I stayed at the Pennsylvania House over the summer with a friend while I found a more permanent place to live.
The fire alarm would go off all of the time. At some point, the fire alarm was going off a few times a week and in the middle of the night. It was a jarring experience being woken up to the blaring sound and rushing down the stairs trying not to trip over the residents.
The other thing that stood out to me about the place is the smell. The elevator had a strong odor. The sink, dishwasher and bathtub had a bad smell like they weren’t fully draining.
The place was a disappointment. Find a cleaner place where you can sleep through the night peacefully.

Lived here three years and had a great experience. Things that I loved: The phone app for residents made it easy to pay rent, see payment history, submit maintenance requests, and sign and access lease documents. Maintenance and concierge staff are always reliable and super personable. Package deliveries are left with concierge at the front desk, and you get notifications when they arrive. Leasing office is responsive and helpful. Close proximity to Foggy Bottom metro (Blue/Orange/Silver) as well as Trader Joe's and Whole Foods meant we never needed to drive.Walking distance to Georgetown, DuPont Circle, Lincoln Memorial, and downtown.
Competitive rental rate, responsive staff, great location!
