I did a comprehensive eye exam here and my experience with Dr. Bassey was great - it has been one of the most thorough assessments I have had. However, upon completing my eye exam, I requested a copy of my prescription as I wanted the option of looking at other places for my glasses. They sent me my prescription but when I noticed that my PD measurement was not on there, I brought this to their attention and asked for the information (FYI you need to know your PD measurement(s) when placing an order for glasses online). To my surprise, I was advised that, though they do take PD measurements as part of the exam, ***patients need to pay a $35 fee*** to get this information released to them. In all my years of dealing with different optical places, this is the first time I've been to where they charge you *extra* for your PD measurement - something that is already part of the eye exam.
In other words, because of this "policy", their clients are essentially stuck with having to purchase glasses from them (even though you may not like any of their frames), OR you can choose to pay the extra $35. I understand that policy is policy, but it would be great if they be upfront with their clients about this particular policy so that they can make an informed decision on whether or not to proceed with the eye exam instead of essentially being stuck with having to buy glasses from them.

Great service, above and beyond as far as optical exam. Ordered our glasses and they came in much sooner then expected!!! Overall glad we came in and tried our our local neighborhood Specsavers. Special thanks to staff who were helpful and accommodating!! Thank you!

I don’t usually give bad reviews but this one’s 👎 . I called them many times to get an update for my contact lens just to get NOTHING because apparently they forgot to place an order for it. WOW just WOW! it took them a month to realized that? if I didn’t call, how long will I wait? Thanks for wasting my time! Such a horrible experience! Poor customer service! They do not take customer seriously, Very unprofessional! I don’t recommend this place at all. 0/10

How much is an eye exam?
Our comprehensive eye exams cost $99 at participating stores and include an OCT scan at no additional charge. This is a detailed 3D image of your eye and its structures, helping your optometrist to spot eye conditions even earlier. If you're 65 or over you can get a comprehensive eye exam with no out of pocket expense to you (costs covered by provincial health care plan for eligible patients).
How do I book an eye exam?
You can easily book an eye exam with us online. Just select the store and click ‘book appointment’ and our website will be able to easily take you through the booking process! You can also just give us a call or pop in and see us and we'll be able to book you in for an appointment and help with any questions you might have.
Can I return my glasses?
Yes, we want you to be completely happy with your purchase at Specsavers. If you have any concerns within three months of the date of purchase, we'll put it right.
How can I amend or cancel my order?
If you placed your order in-store with us and you’d like to amend or cancel it, just pop in and see us. As a part of our no worries, no fuss guarantee, you're able to amend or return your glasses within 3 months.
Can I get my glasses adjusted/repaired?
If you’re experiencing any discomfort or issues at all with your glasses, just pop in and see us and we'll see if we can adjust or repair them in-store for you.
