I’ve always trusted Samsonite as a premium brand, but my recent repair experience was terrible. I dropped off my carry-on bag in Stratford, ON for a handle and wheel repair (out of warranty) back in March. The bag was shipped to Laval, QC, and I was told the repair would be done before my trip in 6 weeks.
It wasn’t. In fact, the bag wasn’t returned until August 29th — more than 5 months later.
To make matters worse, I was quoted $48, but my Visa was charged over $100 with no receipt or breakdown. When I called to ask for a detailed bill, the customer service was rude and dismissive.
Extremely disappointing from a brand I once considered reliable. I own several Samsonite pieces, but after this experience, I’ll seriously reconsider buying Samsonite again.
